Accessibility statement · last reviewed 14 September 2026

We build websites for a living, and we sell accessibility audits. It would be poor form not to publish where our own site stands.

Conformance status

The target standard is WCAG 2.1 level AA — the same standard the Austrian Barrierefreiheitsgesetz (BaFG) applies to covered digital services. This site is partially conformant: automated testing finds no violations, and a full manual audit has been carried out for keyboard operation and colour contrast, but not yet for every assistive technology.

How we test

Automated: axe-core against WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules, run against every page on every deploy. Current result: 0 violations across the home page, imprint, privacy policy and the 404 page.

Manual: keyboard-only navigation, visible focus order, colour contrast of every brand colour pair, and behaviour under prefers-reduced-motion.

Automated tools detect roughly 20–50% of accessibility issues. A clean automated result is a floor, not a certificate — which is precisely why our own audit service pairs it with manual testing.

Known limitations

We would rather list these than pretend they do not exist:

— The site has not yet been tested end to end with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS). Planned before the end of 2026.
— The custom cursor hides the native pointer on devices with a mouse. Keyboard and touch input are unaffected, and the cursor is disabled below 820 px.
— Smooth scrolling is active. It respects prefers-reduced-motion, but scroll behaviour still differs from the browser default.
— This statement is published in English and German. Both versions are maintained together; neither is designated as the authoritative one.
